The 24:1 Public Policy and Advocacy Council is a very active organization that meets regularly throughout the year. To learn more about upcoming events and meetings, please contact Rachel Hurtado.
Email us to get involvedWe are a resident-led council that gathers information, advises elected officials, and advocates for the best interests of residents in the Normandy schools footprint in North St. Louis County.
Our priorities include:
- Education – We support early childhood education and increased childcare subsidies. We also support fair and equitable processes related to charter schools in Missouri and the 24:1 Community.
- Health – We partner with other organizations to support the equitable design and implementation of Medicaid expansion across Missouri.
- Public Safety – We advocate for crime reduction in our neighborhoods via specific community-based strategies. Strengthening relations between residents and police is one of our highest priorities.
- Housing – We support the preservation of affordable housing, addressing vacancy and environmental safety, and passing policy protections for tenants (including eviction moratoriums and rent relief due to prolonged hardships from the COVID-19 pandemic).
One of our highlights each year is 24:1 Community Advocacy Day at the Missouri state capitol.
