The College Savings Program is an Individual Development Account (IDA) or matched-savings program offered through Beyond Housing, US Bank, and the Normandy Schools Collaborative (where it’s called Viking Advantage).
The program is designed to assist hard-working families living within the boundaries of the Normandy Schools Collaborative with saving for college by providing financial tools and assistance. It’s open to any high school student in the 24:1 Community no matter what school they attend.
Here’s how it works:
- The IDA is set up as a custodial account at US Bank. Each dollar deposited is matched with three dollars.
- Students can deposit up to $500 that will be matched with $1,500, reaching a grand total of $2,000 to use for post-secondary education.
- These matched funds DO NOT NEED TO BE REPAID!
Call 314-575-0071 to set up an appointment to complete the orientation and enrollment paperwork. Participants must provide a copy of their state photo ID. The enrollment packet is very simple to complete. If students are over the age of 18, they are able to enroll without a guardian.
