If you’ve experienced an interruption to your household income due to the pandemic and you’re having trouble paying your natural gas bill, you may be eligible for $100 in assistance per household.
To qualify, you must be an active Spire residential customer and be between 0%-185% of the poverty level. The application webpage has an income calculation table. Applications are being accepted now through Sept. 30 or until grant funds run out.
If you are outside these guidelines, you’re not eligible for this program, but there may be other programs to assist you. Please visit SpireEnergy.com/assistance or call 800-887-4173 for more information.
Another option is to apply for energy assistance through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) which is a federally funded program; unrelated to Spire.
You can also contact United Way 2-1-1 to apply for utility assistance.
Spire is also providing up to $200 in assistance to small businesses.
To qualify, you must:
- Be a small, non-franchised and locally owned businesses
- Be a valid entity confirmed through the Secretary of State and/or Better Business Bureau
- Have an active Spire commercial account for at least 6 months
- Show loss of revenue month over month due to COVID-19 closure
