The economic development work in the 24:1 Community has focused on commercial properties. For example, local organization, Beyond Housing, owns and operates space for local small businesses that provide goods and services our community has prioritized during ongoing community visioning.
Thus far, with residents’ input, they have brought a grocery store, bank, healthcare services, office space, a movie theater, sit-down restaurant dining, and retail space into the 24:1 Community, with more projects in the works.
They know that engaging and supporting start-ups, entrepreneurs, and longtime local businesses of all sizes will result in a stronger tax base, increased employment opportunities for local workers, and more places for residents to shop, dine, and enjoy entertainment in surrounding areas.
